How to add the appointments using the onTap callback in the Flutter Calendar?

1 min read

In the Flutter Event Calendar, you can add the appointments when tapped cells through the onTap callback of the Calendar.

In initState() set the default values.

CalendarDataSource? _dataSource;

@override
void initState() {
  _dataSource = _getDataSource();
  super.initState();
}

Using onTap callback of the Flutter calendar, you can add appointments in the tapped cell.

void calendarTapped(CalendarTapDetails calendarTapDetails) {
  Appointment app = Appointment(
      startTime: calendarTapDetails.date!,
      endTime: calendarTapDetails.date!.add(Duration(hours: 1)),
      subject: 'Tapped appointment',
      color: Colors.greenAccent);
  _dataSource!.appointments!.add(app);
    _dataSource.notifyListeners(
        CalendarDataSourceAction.add, <Appointment>[app]);
}
