Rich Text Editor's paste cleanup features

Paste from External Sources


 

The Rich Text Editor lets you paste content from the external sources such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, the Web, PDF files, and from other word editors. The editor also preserves copied content properties and can perform all the featured formatting after the content is pasted.

 

Paste from Microsoft Word or Outlook


 

The Rich Text Editor will accept almost all the content present in the clipboard. The editor validates the type of source from which it is copied before presenting it in the UI.

 

Supported elements:


 

The Rich Text Editor maintain the following formats when pasting content from MS Word or Outlook.

  1. Plain Text Format
  • Background color of copied text
  • Font-Color
  • Font-size
  • Text formatting (Bold, Italic, underline and strike through)
  • Alignment (right, left and center align)
  1. Table format
  • Cell dimensions
  • Table content
  • Table dimension (height, width and padding)
  1. Images
  • Images with actual dimensions
  1. Hyperlinks
  2. Lists
  • Numbered list
  • Bulleted list

Paste from MS Excel


 

The editor allows pasting MS Excel content in table format.

Supported elements:

The Rich Text Editor maintain the following formats when pasting content from MS Excel.

  1. Plain Text Format
  • Background color of copied text
  1. Table format
  • Cell dimensions
  • Table content
  • Table dimension (height, width and padding)
  1. Images
  • Images with actual dimensions (image will be render into editor, if it is hosted in server)
  1. Hyperlinks

 

Paste from PDF:


 

While copying and pasting content from a PDF, it allows only plain text content.

Supported elements:


 

  • Plain Text Format
  • Images (if image alone copied from PDF)

 

Paste from Web


 

You can also copy and paste any web page contents into the Rich Text Editor. The styles of the pasted content in the editor will be applied as they are on the webpage.

Supported elements:

 

  1. Plain Text Format
  • Background color of copied text
  • Font-Color
  • Font-size
  • Text formatting (Bold, Italic, underline, and strike through)
  • Alignment (right, left, and center align)
  1. Table format
  • Cell dimensions
  • Table content

  • Images with actual dimensions (image will be rendered into the editor, if it is hosted in server)
