How to specify the position of a floating legend in WinForms Chart?

2 mins read

When the LegendPosition property of the ChartControl is set to ChartDock.Floating, the position defaults to the top-right corner of the ChartArea of the ChartControl in WinForms Chart.

However, you can customize the legend's position by specifying coordinates using the Location property of the ChartLegend.

C#

this.chartControl1.LegendPosition = ChartDock.Floating;
this.chartControl1.Legend.Location = new Point(100, 30);

VB

columnChart.LegendPosition = ChartDock.Floating
columnChart.Legend.Location = New Point(100, 30)

Output:

floating legend
