How to add custom axis label in React Chart?
This article explains how to customize and add custom axis label in the React Chart.
Customize the axis label
Axis labels have been generated based on the provided data points. In the React Chart, you can change the entire axis label text to your desired text using the axisLabelRender event.
In the following code example, the primary y-axis labels are overridden by the axisLabelRender event.
Index.js
import { createRoot } from 'react-dom/client';
import * as React from 'react';
import { ChartComponent, SeriesCollectionDirective, SeriesDirective, Inject, LineSeries, Category
} from '@syncfusion/ej2-react-charts';
const Line = () => {
const axisLabelRender = (args) => {
if (args.axis.orientation === 'Vertical')
{
if (args.value <= 380) {
args.text = 'Very Low';
} else if (args.value > 380 && args.value < 420) {
args.text = 'Low';
} else if (args.value >= 420 && args.value < 430) {
args.text = 'Average';
} else if (args.value >= 430 && args.value < 455) {
args.text = 'High';
} else if (args.value >= 455) {
args.text = 'Very High';
}
}
}
return (
<ChartComponent
id="charts"
primaryXAxis={{
valueType: 'Category',
labelStyle: {fontWeight: 'Bold'}
}}
primaryYAxis={{
minimum: 380,
maximum: 470,
interval: 15,
labelStyle: {fontWeight: 'Bold'}
}}
axisLabelRender={axisLabelRender.bind(this)}
>
<Inject services={[LineSeries, Category]} />
<SeriesCollectionDirective>
<SeriesDirective
dataSource={data}
xName="x"
yName="y"
type="Line"
></SeriesDirective>
</SeriesCollectionDirective>
</ChartComponent>
);
};
export default Line;
const root = createRoot(document.getElementById('sample'));
root.render(<Line />);
