How to remove header and footer in ASP.NET Core Word using C#?

Syncfusion® Essential® DocIO is a .NET Word Library used to create, read, edit, and convert Word documents programmatically without Microsoft Word or interop dependencies. Using this library, you can remove header and footer for a particular section in a Word document using C#.

Steps to remove header and footer for a particular section in a Word document using C#:

  1. Create a new C# .NET Console application project.
    Create a new C# .NET console application.
  2. Install the Syncfusion.DocIO.Net.Core NuGet package as a reference to your project from NuGet.org.
    Install Syncfusion.DocIO.Net.Core NuGet package

Starting with v16.2.0.x, if you reference Syncfusion® assemblies from trial setup or from the NuGet feed, include a license key in your projects. Refer to the link to learn about generating and registering a Syncfusion® license key in your application to use the components without trail message.

  1. Include the following namespaces in Program.cs file.

  1. To remove the header and footer for a particular section in a Word document, first clear the child entities of the header and footer, then add an empty paragraph. Otherwise, the previous section’s header and footer values will be retained. Use the following code snippet in Program.cs file.

       //Remove the even header
       section.HeadersFooters.EvenHeader.ChildEntities.Clear();

       //Remove the even footer
       section.HeadersFooters.EvenFooter.ChildEntities.Clear();

       using (FileStream outputStream = new FileStream(@"../../../Output.docx", FileMode.Create, FileAccess.Write))
       {
           document.Save(outputStream, FormatType.Docx);
