How to use the WPF SfDiagram as the Content of the Node?

2 mins read

In the WPF Diagram, you can use the diagram as the content of the node by utilizing the Content property of the Node in the main diagram. We have provided the code example for how to achieve this.

Code snippet:

NodeViewModel node = new NodeViewModel()
{
   OffsetX = 300,
   OffsetY = 300,
   UnitHeight = 500,
   UnitWidth = 500,
   Shape = new RectangleGeometry() { Rect = new Rect(0, 0, 10, 10) },
   ShapeStyle = App.Current.MainWindow.Resources["NodeStyle"] as Style,
   Content = this.GetSubDiagram()
};
(Diagram.Nodes as NodeCollection).Add(node);

//Method for setting a Subdiagram as the content of the Node
private SfDiagram GetSubDiagram()
{
   var subDiagram = new SfDiagram();
   subDiagram.Background = new SolidColorBrush(Colors.WhiteSmoke);
   subDiagram.Height = 400;
   subDiagram.Width = 400;
   subDiagram.Tool = Tool.None;
   subDiagram.PageSettings = new PageSettings() { PageWidth = double.NaN, PageHeight = double.NaN };
   subDiagram.Nodes = new NodeCollection();

   var node = new NodeViewModel() {
       OffsetX = 100,
       OffsetY = 100,
       UnitWidth = 100,
       UnitHeight = 100,
       Shape = new RectangleGeometry() { Rect = new Rect(0, 0, 10, 10) },
       ShapeStyle = App.Current.MainWindow.Resources["SubDiagramNodeStyle"] as Style,
   };
   (subDiagram.Nodes as NodeCollection).Add(node);

  subDiagram.HorizontalRuler = new Syncfusion.UI.Xaml.Diagram.Controls.Ruler();
  subDiagram.VerticalRuler = new Syncfusion.UI.Xaml.Diagram.Controls.Ruler()
  {
      Orientation = System.Windows.Controls.Orientation.Vertical,
  };

   subDiagram.PreviewMouseDown += (s, e) =>
   {
       e.Handled = true;
   };
   return subDiagram;
}
