Installer changes

Before 31.x.x (30.x and lower)

Installers were organized by platforms and file formats, such as:

  • Web: Blazor, ASP.NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, JavaScript, React, Angular, Vue
  • Mobile: .NET MAUI, Flutter (add-on), Xamarin (retired)
  • Desktop: WPF, WinForms, UWP, WinUI
  • File formats: Excel, PDF, PowerPoint, Word

From 31.1.17 onward

Installers are now structured around editions, while platforms remain available as before:

  • Web: Blazor, ASP.NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, JavaScript, React, Angular, Vue
  • Mobile: .NET MAUI, Flutter (add-on)
  • Desktop: WPF, WinForms, UWP, WinUI
  • New document solutions:
    • Document SDK
    • PDF Viewer SDK
    • DOCX Editor SDK
    • Spreadsheet Editor SDK

Major changes

  • File format installers reorganized: Instead of separate PDF, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint installers, these are now restructured as Document SDK, PDF Viewer SDK, DOCX Editor SDK, and Spreadsheet Edition SDK.
  • Xamarin installer retired: Starting with the Volume 3 release, Xamarin is no longer included as it has reached its end of support.
Retaining value for existing customers

In earlier releases, the Essential Studio installer included:

  • UI components like the DataGrid, Charts, Scheduler, Diagram, Gantt, Rich Text Editor, and more.
  • Document processing libraries like PDF, DocIO (Word), XlsIO (Excel), PowerPoint, and all converters.
  • Viewers and editors like the PDF Viewer, DOCX Editor, and Spreadsheet Editor.

From 31.x.x onward, the product has been split into editions. However, to ensure no loss of value or experience, we’ve designed the offline Windows installer to continue providing all UI components, document libraries, converters, and editors for:

  • Existing customers (prior to 31.x.x) based on their login credentials or unlock keys.
  • New customers who purchase the Enterprise Edition.

For new customers who purchase only a specific edition like the Blazor installer for UI Edition, the installer will provide only the Blazor components included in that edition—DataGrid, Charts, Scheduler, Diagram, Gantt, Rich Text Editor, and more.

Web installer

Before 31.x.x

In earlier versions, the Syncfusion web installer:

  • Displayed a list of all supported platforms and frameworks in Essential Studio.
  • Allowed users to check the platforms they wanted, like Blazor, ASP.NET Core, Angular, and WPF, and proceed with installation.
  • Asked users to log in just before starting the installation process.

From 31.x.x (31.1.17 and higher)

The web installer has been updated to align with the new edition-based licensing model by:

  • Prompting users to log in first before proceeding.
  • Automatically retrieves and displays only the products associated with your license after login, whether the UI Edition, Document SDK, PDF Viewer SDK, or another edition.
  • Allowing you to select the required products and proceed with installation.

Trial users

  • If you don’t have an existing account, you can create a new one during installation.
  • Once logged in, the installer will show all platforms and frameworks with a trial license, allowing you to explore the full product set before purchase.
