How to customize axis header appearance in OLAP Chart?

This article explains how to change the color of the axis header text in a Syncfusion WPF OLAP Chart. By assigning a customized TextBlock to the axis Header property, you can fully control the appearance of the header, including its text color.

This customization is useful when you want to highlight axis titles or align them with your application’s visual theme.

Follow these steps to change the axis header color in the WPF OLAP Chart:

Step 1: Configure the OLAP Data Manager

Initialize the OlapDataManager, set the OLAP report, and attach the Loaded event to apply header customization after the chart loads. For more information, refer this getting started documentation.

public MainWindow()
{
   InitializeComponent();

   this.olapChart.OlapDataManager =
       new Syncfusion.Olap.Manager.OlapDataManager(
       "Data Source=https://bi.syncfusion.com/olap/msmdpump.dll;" +
       "Initial Catalog=Adventure Works DW 2008 SE;");

   this.olapChart.OlapDataManager.SetCurrentReport(SampleReport());

   this.olapChart.Loaded += OlapChart_Loaded;
}
Public Sub New()
   InitializeComponent()

   Me.olapChart.OlapDataManager =
       New Syncfusion.Olap.Manager.OlapDataManager(
       "Data Source=https://bi.syncfusion.com/olap/msmdpump.dll;" &
       "Initial Catalog=Adventure Works DW 2008 SE;")

   Me.olapChart.OlapDataManager.SetCurrentReport(SampleReport())

   AddHandler Me.olapChart.Loaded, AddressOf OlapChart_Loaded
End Sub

Step 2: Customize the Axis Header Color

In the Loaded event, create a TextBlock, set its Foreground property to the desired color, and assign it to the axis Header.

void OlapChart_Loaded(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)
{
   TextBlock textBlock = new TextBlock
   {
       Text = "Header Text",
       Foreground = new SolidColorBrush(Colors.Red)
   };

   this.olapChart.PrimaryAxis.Header = textBlock;
}
Private Sub OlapChart_Loaded(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As RoutedEventArgs)
   Dim textBlock As New TextBlock()
   textBlock.Text = "Header Text"
   textBlock.Foreground = New SolidColorBrush(Colors.Red)

   Me.olapChart.PrimaryAxis.Header = textBlock
End Sub

Output

Axis header customization
