How to solve "Network Error" problem while exporting in ASP .NET WebForms PivotClient?

3 mins read

You can solve the “Network Error” problem while exporting OLAP controls through the below information.

In-general, we are using “HttpContext.Current.Response” class for exporting operations.  As WCF Service does not support the usage of this class, in all the system configurations, we get “Network Error”.

The below screen-shot shows the mentioned class used in WCF Service under “Export” method.

In order to re-solve this problem, we have migrated to Web API controller class for adopting communication between server-side and client-side. Migration from WCF to Web API would require only minor configuration changes. Other than this, the service methods and logic inside service method would appear the same.

Below UG documentation links illustrates how to integrate our OLAP controls with Web API controller.

A new version of Essential Studio for ASP.NET is available. Versions prior to the release of Essential Studio 2014, Volume 2 will now be referred to as a classic versions. The new ASP.NET suite is powered by Essential Studio for JavaScript providing client-side rendering of HTML 5-JavaScript controls, offering better performance, and better support for touch interactivity. The new version includes all the features of the old version, so migration is easy.

The Classic controls can be used in existing projects; however, if you are starting a new project, we recommend using the latest version of Essential Studio for ASP.NET. Although Syncfusion will continue to support all Classic Versions, we are happy to assist you in migrating to the newest edition.
