3 mins read

Syncfusion Essential XlsIO is a .NET Excel library used to create, read, and edit Excel documents. Using this library, you can also reverse the chart axis plot order.

Steps to reverse chart axis order programmatically:

Chart axis order can be reversed by setting ReversePlotOrder property of that particular axis to true.

C#

//Reverse chart axis order
chart.PrimaryValueAxis.ReversePlotOrder = true;
chart.PrimaryCategoryAxis.ReversePlotOrder = true;

Reverse chart axis order

Below is the list of some of the common properties that are used to format chart axis.

  • CrossesAt
  • NumberFormat
  • Title
  • IsReversed
  • Visible

The following C#/ VB.NET complete code snippet shows how to reverse chart axis order using XlsIO.

C#

using Syncfusion.XlsIO;
using System.Reflection;
using System.IO;

namespace ChartSample
{
    class Program
    {
        static void Main(string[] args)
        {
            using (ExcelEngine excelEngine = new ExcelEngine())
            {
                IApplication application = excelEngine.Excel;
                application.DefaultVersion = ExcelVersion.Excel2016;

                //Open existing workbook with data entered
                Assembly assembly = typeof(Program).GetTypeInfo().Assembly;
                Stream fileStream = assembly.GetManifestResourceStream("ChartSample.InputTemplate.xlsx");
                IWorkbook workbook = application.Workbooks.Open(fileStream);
                IWorksheet worksheet = workbook.Worksheets[0];

                //Initialize chart
                IChartShape chart = worksheet.Charts.Add();
