How to set multilevel labels for Excel chart axis in C#, VB.NET?

1 min read

This article explains how to set multilevel labels in chart axis using XlsIO.

How to set multilevel labels in chart axis?

Two or more category labels can be displayed for an axis through Multi-level labels. This can be achieved in XlsIO through NoMultiLevelLabel property in category axis, where multilevel labels can be enabled or disabled in chart.

          Multilevel labels set using XlsIO

Code snippet to set multilevel labels

//Set multilevel label for chart category axis
chart.PrimaryCategoryAxis.NoMultiLevelLabel = false;

Note: Only chart category axis supports multilevel labels whereas value axis does not.

Applicable properties for a chart axis

Below is the list of some of the common properties that are used to format chart axis.

1.  CrossesAt

2.  NumberFormat

3.  Title

4.  IsReversed

5.  Visible
