How to set invert if negative for Excel chart in C#, VB.NET?

4 mins read

This article explains how to set "Invert if Negative" in a chart using the .NET XlsIO Library.

What is the purpose of "Invert if Negative"?

When a chart series contains both positive and negative data points, the data bars are created with the same color by default. To make the chart clearer and more professional, the color of negative data bars can be inverted by enabling "Invert if Negative" under "Format Data Series."

This can be achieved in XlsIO by using the `InvertIfNegative` property of the `ChartSerieImpl` class.

Code snippet to set invert if negative

// Set invert if negative
(chart.Series[1] as ChartSerieImpl).InvertIfNegative = true;

The following C#/ VB.NET complete code snippet shows how to set invert if negative in chart using XlsIO.
