How to set and display custom palette colors for chart series in Report Designer

Syncfusion Report Designer allows you to create and visualize the chart report items by defining the custom palette colors for one or more series in the chart report item. You can change the color palette of a chart by selecting a predefined palette collection or defining a new custom palette collection. The following steps guide you to create a report with customized series colors in the chart report item:

  1. Create a new report and add an embedded data source and dataset.
  2. Draw a chart report item.
  3. In the report design view, click the chart to select it. In the chart properties window, click the Data option and add data fields to the chart series, category, and values.
  4. Click the Custom Palette Colors option and click Add to set a color for chart series. You can select a color from the drop-down list or specify through an expression for dynamic values.

 

Click the Custom Palette Colors option and click Add

 

  1. Click Add to add more colors to the palette, and then click OK.
  2. On the report design view, click the Chart report item. The properties for the selected chart object are displayed in the property grid.
  3. In the General section, navigate to the Palette property and select a palette from the drop-down list to render the chart based on predefined colors (or) choose Custom to view the chart based on customized colors as follows.

  1. Preview the report to render the chart report item with different colors on each series.
