How to resolve user conflicts in Data Migration
Application checks for any user conflicts that occurs between the User Management Server and Report Server.
If user conflict exists, it should be resolved manually. User conflict may arise with the following two possibilities:
- Same email address for users in the User Management Server and Report Server.
- Same username for users in User Management Server and Report Server.
Resolve same email address conflicts
For email address conflicts, you should retain the User Management Server user or Report Server user. Click the drop-down menu besides the client user to choose the user you want to retain.
- Choose Use UMS to retain the User Management Server user and ignore the client user.
- Choose Use client to retain the client user and ignore the User Management Server user.
The option selected under “Apply to all Email Duplicate(s)” will be applied to all users that are listed under email duplication.
Resolve same username conflicts
For user name conflicts, you should ignore client user, edit User Management Server user, edit Report Server user, or keep both users. Click the drop-down menu besides the client user to choose the user you want to keep.
Ignore client user
The Ignore client option allows you ignore the client user.
Edit User Management Server user
The Edit UMS option allows you to edit the username of UMS user as follows.
Edit Report Server user
The Edit client option allows you to edit the username of client user as follows.
Keep both users
The Keep both option generates random number and appends to the client username.
The option selected under “Apply to all Username Duplicate(s)” will be applied to all users that are listed under username duplication.
